PORTA CAPUANA PROJECT
L’ARTE FA’ PAURA ALLA CAMORRA – intervista di Maria Luisa Pezzali Radio24 -
From 17 of september 2010 Capuana Door, is closed by great photo installation of 112 meters square. Capuana door has represented, in the centuries, the main income of the city. It was part integrating of the widening of walls intentional from Ferrante d’ Aragona. The intense activities of construction of the door began in 1484, it replaced it pre-exists door, with the construction of the two said towers Honor and Virtue, and was work of Giuliano da Maiano. It can be considered, quite undoubtedly, one of the more important works of the Rinascimento in Naples. The Curator of Project is Stefania Russo, and the project is called “the doors closed by Camorra*”.(*The Camorra is a mafia-like criminal organization, or secret society, in the region of Campania and the city of Naples in Italy).The installation close the Door, but give the possibility to the pepole to walk trought it. At level of eyes there is a frase in the installation “with the crisis the Camorra grows and the hope dies”. the photo is an inedit release of the rosaria iazzetta works, and show an sculpture of dying Christ behind flowers,where inside two guns hide, one in the direction of spectators, and the other in the direction of Cristo. The sense of this project, is to wake up the consciences of neapolitans pepole with aim to fight this illegal war for increase the happiness and the justice. The installation will be visible until 18 of october 2010.
